I was very touched by Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty. It is something I would love to bring to my studio and this is what the Body Scapes feature is all about. During a Body Scapes session it is up to the model how much they wish to be shown and we will move at the pace of their comfort level. Always these sessions are scheduled after hours so that the doors of the studio remain locked. We do this for three reasons: one - to make sure that no uninvited interruptions are made during the session, two - to ensure absolute comfort for our models, and three - studies have shown that the evening light shows us in our best and most relaxed state.

The Body Scapes session has been developed to be a very classy and high end photo shoot. I believe that the media developed standards of female beauty are unrealistic and therefor can be damaging to a woman’s self esteem. This session has been developed to counteract this notion. I believe woman are works of art as they are and the goal of this session is to capture that in a print. Also, this session has been shown to be even therapeutic for some clients and I couldn’t be more pleased about this. And although this session has been developed with our female clients in mind, we do offer this session for couples as well.

Basic retouching, including removal of small scars, is included within the cost of the session. Should the client wish to have something like a tattoo removed from their photograph, this can be done at an extra cost. However, I try my best to keep the amount of retouching to a minimum as the focus of the session is to show the models as they are, and I make sure to set the studio to reflect the most flattering light.

Before the session begins, an agreement will be signed by both the photographer and the model to ensure that the model’s privacy and trust is 100% protected. I understand that this can be a very sensitive shoot and at no time do I want my clients to feel uneasy about their evening with me. The model will be able to take a copy of this agreement home with them as added insurance.

All photographs will be black and white compositions and printed on fine art paper to add a sense of sophistication and class to the finished product. I do not shoot these sessions in color at any time as I feel this subtracts from the results of the session.
